Nikkor 200-500 VR/TC 14 III @280mm, f8, ISO 1600, Nikon Z 6 Early morning, slight mist; this could be a female saltwater crocodile, it seems of a more gracile build for this size, I am guessing. We tend to associate the size with agility but this can be a source of a shocking surprise when it comes to massive size crocodiles. Their mobility depends on various factors and the size is one of the last ones. This is in the heart of the mangrove labyrinth (NP). It was a half-day journey across vast stretches of estuarine waters to get here on a proper boat rented with two men crew and an archaic diesel engine at full speed (you hardly heard your own words). Here we often drifted with the currents using heavy long bargepoles made of very dense hardwood (mangrove). Most of the photographs were shot from this boat. Odisha mangroves
