The meadow, now chest-high at places, is larded with numerous flowers. There seems to be noticeably more insect this year; we haven’t seen swarms like these before. Cherries add to the times of plenty (even more blackthorn fruit in this location with their pollen and nectar before that). South East

This is fundamental for maintaining this productive and rich biotope. Cutting the grass in the past, I left the cut grass on the ground. The next best thing is to heap it up near the location. It serves a similar purpose (not exhausting the soil) and creates spots from which an array of life forms can benefit bumping up significantly the overall diversity of the place. South East
