Tokina 35/2.8 macro, @f2.8, Dry sclerophyll forest; D90 28 species of this ancient plant is found in Australia and Tasmania. Grass Tree vary in size and speed at which they grow; that is also largely environment-dependent. It needs bushfire for successful reproduction.

Western Tasmania

Nikkor 50/1.8G @ f9; D90 Tasmania sits right in the path of strong wind current called Roaring Forties. Its character is more stormy and intense compared to the similar system in the Northern hemisphere and that mostly due to isolated position of the island and therefore its full exposure. Calm and sunny days are exception; especially in the western part of the island where rapid changes in weather are the norm.

Nikkor 14-24 @24mm, f7.1, side contra-light; D7000 Making progress through this boggy landscape is exhausting and after a rain impossible. It’s filled with Black Tigers that while not aggressive remain still one of the world’s most venoms snakes. The terrain can cause falling on one when suddenly avoiding stepping on it.
