This Mountain had many names. We call it Cradle Mountain today.
In my native language, the mountain is of feminine gender and the Czechs refer to it as to her like in old Scottish Gaelic, for example.
Seeing the word through the English term equally naturally, I realise how influential a word can be. And so the classic Nomen Omen has yet another and further reaching meaning.
The area is mostly covered with clouds. Only 32 days of the year are sunny. As soon as we spotted the high atmospheric pressure taking control, we adjusted our schedule swiftly
and headed straight for Cradle Mountain we wanted to photograph.
Apart from this set, there are cca 5 – 7 more images connected to this mountain we value.
