Gooday - on the fine road
Nikkor 16-85 @35 mm, f10; D90 note our clean car (yesterday's storm)
70-200/4 IS, f7.1; 450D Captured above the Katherine River. At this time of year real baking hot and the surrounding rocks could double as an owen. On one day tour we hike light with two light backpacks and camera bags using our lightweight tripods. Whole day hike requires adequate amount of water to carry, the heaviest part of an outdoor kit here. It is possible to find water sometimes on the plateau and tables are a good back up. Access to the river is not easy due to terrain. Both kinds of crocodiles live in the river but the rangers take great care to relocate saltwater species so that canoeing is safe for some time in the Dry (that's why we weren't allowed to use a canoe yet).
Nikkor 16-85 @85 mm, f8; D90 Man nor a croc expected here. Blessed with a swim to wash the dust away in the timelessness.
70-200/4 @70 mm, f8; 450D after the rain, Kimberley Rain and storm is good for this land. Semi-desert soaked wet. waiting for Hynek
Tokina 11-16@ 16mm, f8; D90 No Paths but clear water to wade. No crocodiles. Just two forgotten people in timeless nature and a few millions untellable seconds.

The Pool We Came To
Tokina 11-16 @11mm, f8, Northern Territory; D90 In the middle of endless savannah bushland along a nameless stream was walking route of Waginam People for tens of thousands of years. It was getting late when we came across the meander; sun slowly turning down its daily course. I photographed the place before the sand was marked with our footprints and we refreshed ourselves with a swim.
